確診經驗給我的啟示

I'm Ginalyn Mabini Rebutoc. I was infected with COVID-19 on May 11, 2022. The symptoms I developed were back pain, headaches and the loss of appetite due to colds.
我是吉娜林。我在2022年5月11日感染了COVID-19。我出現類似感冒症狀的頭痛、食慾不振和背痛。

I noticed that I had cough before all this started and used Vicks Vapour Rub to massage throughout my throat and chest. During that time our company was undergoing the COVID outbreak. I first tested positive at home, and then I went to the hospital for PCR and that confirmed everything- I was officially confirmed COVID positive. They told me to go home to isolate and take a rest.
我注意到確診之前我開始咳嗽,於是我塗抹舒緩薄荷膏在我的喉嚨和胸部,藉著按摩緩解不適。這段期間,公司同事也接連染疫。我先是使用快篩檢測呈現陽性,然後去醫院進行 PCR,證實了陽性確診。醫院要我回家隔離休息。

In the next four days, I developed an extremely high temperature; my back is in pain and I have severe coughing. I faced a greater challenge on how to isolate myself in a very small room with my roommates who at that time are all being paranoid because of what's happening around.
在接下來的四天裡,我開始發燒,我的背部很痛,我咳嗽得很厲害。我面臨著一個更大的挑戰,那便是如何將自己和我的室友隔離在一個非常小的房間裡,當時大家都因為周圍發生的事情而變得偏執。

Even though I'm going through a hard time, I tried so hard to stay positive and not to get demoralized. Many things came to my mind such as my family and my job. What if I won't survive? I tried all imaginable remedies to get rid of the virus. I ate healthy foods like fruits and vegetables and drank plenty of water. I tried to do some exercise even for 10 minutes when my symptoms finally relieved; I drank lemonade and warm water.
儘管我正在經歷一段艱難的時期,但我還是努力保持積極態度,不灰心喪氣。我想了很多事情,例如我的家庭和我的工作。如果我無法活下去怎麼辦?我嘗試想像所有可能的補救措施來擺脫病毒。我吃了健康的食物,像是水果和蔬菜,喝大量的水。當我的症狀終於緩解時,我試著做一些運動,即使只有10 分鐘,接著再補充檸檬水和溫水。

On the 10th day, all these symptoms had vanished and on the 2nd week I felt fully recovered. My cousin and friends helped me with my needs and clarity on the isolation orders we were going through. But the most important is I listened to my body on what it was telling me.
隔離第10天,身體不舒服的症狀消失了,第2週我感覺完全康復了。我的表弟妹和朋友幫助我解決隔離期間的需求,明確執行隔離規定。但最重要的是我聽見我的身體對我說了什麼。

I think that people need to familiarize themselves more thoroughly with symptoms of the virus, as it affects everyone differently. Do not become complacent with hygiene. Wash your hands before eating and after going to the toilet. Use sanitizer and disinfectants wherever you can. The most important thing is to be responsible and get vaccinated so that we will become safe.
我認為人們需要更徹底地熟悉病毒產生的症狀,因為它對每個人的影響都不同。不要對自己的衛生習慣感到自滿,吃飯前和上廁所後要洗手,盡可能隨時使用乾洗手和消毒水。最重要的是做好自己的本分並接種疫苗,這樣我們才能安全不受病毒侵襲。
